Camping Gear and Equipment: Secure your Safety 

Camping is such a wonderful experience for the whole family, and keeping everyone safe is a first priority.

If you are a first time camper, here is a list of the kind of safety gear to consider:

Shelter

Get a good tent that will protect you from sun, wind, rain and animals.

Maps and Map Case

Armed with maps there will be less fighting about stopping and asking for directions.  It's always best to know where you are going, how you are going to get there, before you head out.

Sleeping bags

This will help you keep you away from the cold and provide a comfortable and good sleep.

Sleeping mats and pillow

Protect yourself from bugs and wet campgrounds.

Cooking equipment

Coolers

This is where you will keep all perishable foods. Coolers do not have to be very costly but if you plan to spend camping for a week, it is advisable to bring a cooler with higher quality and is well insulated.

This is just to make sure that you will not have to buy ice every day to avoid your foods from spoiling. Besides, that will be very expensive and inconvenient.

Safety and medicinal kits

First aid is to campers. It can help during emergencies and cure minor sicknesses that always happen when you're from home. 

Your kit should contain at a minimum, items for pain relief, insect bites, sunscreen and an antibiotic cream.

Here is a safety checklist, which you can use.

4. Antiseptic wipes
5. Anti-itch ointment
6. Small scissors
7. Instant ice packs
8. Bite relief pen
9. Poison cleaner and cleanser
10. Sterile gloves
